Twitter lists are a good way to filter the traffic of a bust Twitter account. Lists can be used to see the posts from a particular topics such as “financial news” or “social media management”. Lists can also be a way to collaborate with team members. For example, you may create a list called “color photo inspiration” and your co-workers can visit account saved to the list for ideas. You Twitter list can also be used a directory of friends with common interests.
Twitter lists follow entire accounts. You cannot add individual tweets to a list. A Twitter list is sort of the equivalent to a circle in Google+ or a privacy setting in Facebook the difference is you can choose to post to a circle in Google+ you cannot tweet only to a list in Twitter.
Here’s how to create your first Twitter list:
Click on your profile settings bar to drop down a menu. Select the “Lists” option.
This will bring you to a view of yuor current lists if you have any and also show you the button to create a new Twitter list. Click on “Create list.”
You will get a pop-up box that prompts you for your new lists’s name as well as a description. You can also choose to make a list public or private. If you make the list private, no one else can see it or join the list.
Fill in your list information.
Now you can search to add people to your list.
You can also simply add people as you use Twitter or add users from your Followers list.
