Instagram, like Pinterest, is a great social media platform for any nonprofit. Any business or nonprofit that can represent itself visually is a perfect fit for Instagram. This is a good way to keep in touch with a younger social media audience. Although they may not be likely larger donors, they could easily be eager volunteers and those with fresh ideas and a new perspective on how to approach a cause.
Instagram has an ongoing series called the “Weekend Hashtag Project.” The Weekend Hashtag Project is a series now in its 105th week. A hashtag is announced every Friday. Users who post a photo taken over the weekend and tagged with that hashtag could be featured on the Instagram blog. I came across the helping hand hashtag #WHPhelpinghand which is targeted at charitable acts, organized or not.
